Miami Herald; Orange County Register MJG No More Glory (Suave House/Universal) Memphis rapper MJG's ear for street-credible positivity and clever interpolating helped "No More Glory," his fourth effort, land a remarkable No. 20 debut on Billboard's Top 200 albums chart. Since then the disc has sunk steadily, partly for good reason. There's a lot of gimmick to MJG's beats (notably his reworking of Stevie Wonder's "That Girl") that strikes quick but soon passes. And his attempts at tough-as-nails creeds against violence and self-destruction -- honest but heavy-handed ones -- are thwarted by amateurish skits and an over-eager ambition that makes "No More Glory" at least three songs too long.; Orange County Register The Derailers Reverb Deluxe (Watermelon/Sire) The Derailers, a highly touted quartet out of Austin, Texas, make toe-tapping country music that is as quick with a Chuck Berry or Beatles (or even Beach Boys or Monkees) riff as it is devoted to the crying-behind -this-smile sound of Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. "Reverb Deluxe" sounds at first like a throwback to a bygone era. Producer and master Blaster Dave Alvin keeps things short, sweet and unsullied, but it's easy to hear
