Abstract: At ambient pressure Lu5Ir4Si10 is known to superconduct below 3.9K and to undergo a strongly coupled CDW ordering transition below 83K. On the application of pressure the is enhanced and a simultaneous decrease of is observed. However, the isostructural compound Lu5Ir4Ge10 does not show any CDW ordering as expected (at a higher temperature) from this pressure behavior. Here we present our DC susceptibility and resistivity measurements to show the evolution of and with increasing Ge concentration in the alloy system Lu5Ir4(Si1− x Ge x )10. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
