The article reports on the research conducted by Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. to assess the efficacy of its collision-induced dissociation (CID) and electron transfer dissociation (ETD) techniques in enhancing phosphotyrosine proteome coverage in the Netherlands. Researchers used its LTQ Orbitrap XL ETD™ to identify phosphorylation sites of HeLa cells. They discovered that CID and ETD are both effective in enhancing phosphoproteome coverage than MS method.
