The article presents a study supporting recent findings that Falcipenis canadensis isleibi, a species of Spruce Grouse which are found in the Alexander Archipelago of Alaska, are indeed a subspecies. The basis of this new classification was made on differences in the color of plumage and limited habitation. Looking into the genetic make up of this subspecies, the researchers concluded that the new classification is indeed correct, and recommend that they be warranted special management attention, rather than be categorized with other forest grouse types.
