The author discusses how the University of Arizona incorporated the study of the needs of children with cerebral visual impairment (CVI) into its curriculum. The said effort aims to prepare teachers of visually impaired students and orientation and mobility (O&M) specialists in dealing with individuals with CVI. She explains why the need to define goals in solving CVI intervention problems is important even if such goals differ for each person. To make a significant difference in the learning of a child with CVI, she emphasizes that teachers should have the ability to participate as part of a team and communicate the visual needs of the said child to family members and other professionals in the related field.
