IR laser radiation of XeI atoms in the range of 1700–2050 nm is obtained for the first time upon the pumping of xenon and mixtures of it with helium and argon by a pulsed longitudinal induction discharge. The spectrum of generation consists of two lines with wavelengths of 1733 nm and 2026 nm. The half-amplitude duration of the optical radiation is 60 ± 2 ns (FWHM). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
