A study conducted at Peking University Third Hospital in Beijing, China, aimed to determine the incidence and risk factors of dural ossification (DO) in patients with thoracic ossification of the ligamentum flavum (OLF). The study included 107 patients with thoracic OLF, and the incidence of DO was found to be 35%. The tuberous type according to the Sato classification and larger supine local kyphosis angle (LKA) were identified as independent risk factors for DO in thoracic OLF. The study also proposed a novel DO-OLF risk classification approach that showed promise in predicting DO in patients with thoracic OLF. [Extracted from the article]
