In this work, it involves in the design of innovative coplanar waveguide (CPW) Antenna for s-band range and comparing the radiation pattern with an existing circular microstrip antenna. Materials and methods: The antenna was made using a ring shaped structure that was built on a commercially available FR4 Epoxy (4.4) material flexible substrate with a thickness of 1.6 mm. The performance was analysed with the aid of Ansoft HFSS version 13.0 software. The sample size is estimated to be 40 using the G Power statistical tool with probability of 80%. Results: Simulated and experimental results show that the innovative CPW antenna radiation pattern is increased to 21.2 dB at the frequency of 2.45 GHz. This antenna has been designed and analysed with the aid of Ansoft HFSS version 13.0 software. The significant difference between the two groups was obtained as p<0.05. Conclusion: The obtained results shows that the innovative CPW antenna has improved radiation pattern for aircraft surveillance radar (ASR) application compared with microsrip antenna.
