The article focuses on the latest amendments to the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and the Employment Equity Act in South Africa. Topics include a three-month additional protection for employees placed on temporary employment, and an employer may engage an employee on a fixed-term contract or successive fixed-term contracts for longer than three months only, and Section 8 of the principal Act also been amended in terms of prohibiting psychological testing.
