CFR is a trade term. It describes when the seller is responsible for all inland costs and freight charges in the seller's country, the cost of loading vessels, and for ocean or air freight charges necessary to bring goods to a specified port of destination. The buyer is responsible for arranging and purchasing export insurance, import duties, and inland freight charges in the buyer's country. Title of the goods passes when the goods cross the rail of the ship while being loaded for shipment to the buyer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
