The article describes the architectural structure and design of Shun-kyo, or the Morning Glory House, a building that serves both offices and residences, located in Tokyo, Japan. Its design was based upon a program which sought to provide independence between the living areas. Its structure is composed of reinforced concrete and a steel frame. The interior of the house is finished in slender strips of Paulownia, each of which is fixed so as to make the joints invisible. The house was designed by Yutaka Saito, Architect & Associates and was completed in September 1997.
