The article discusses inactivation of mitochondrial glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase in cisplatin-induced rat nephrotoxicity. It informs that glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT) and mitochondrial malate dehydrogenase (MDH) were identified by cisplatin-affinity column chromatography on renal mitochondrial proteins isolated from Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. It further mentions that cisplatin binds to mitochondrial GOT and inhibits its activity.
