Solid solutions LaxCa(1−x)MnyRu(1−y)O3 and YxCa(1−x)MnyRu(1−y)O3 with 0 ≤ (x,y) ≤ 1 and x ≤ y have been synthesized, characterized by X-ray powder techniques, and conductivity measurements (DC four-probe technique). With the exceptions of the regions close to YMnO3 and LaMnO3, the solid solutions belong to the GdFeO3 type of structure. The manganese rich mixed crystals exhibit semiconductivity. Highest specific conductivity that is at the same time metallic in character occurs in the vicinity of CaRuO3.
