Selection of substrate material and its thickness is very important in antenna design and fabrication to provide better results. This paper presents a comparative study on commonly available substrates which provides better performance. Substrates with different dielectric and thickness are considered for comparison. The antenna is designed to operate at a lower frequency and the substrates with thickness 0.13 mm, 0.8 mm, 1.6 mm are considered with dielectric constants of 3, 2.2, 4.4 which are commonly available. Antennas at a lower frequency of operation are widely used as these devices can be incorporated in the wireless communication devices, it has low correlation and provides high isolation in mobile terminals of much smaller size. The internal space consumed by the antenna elements and other components is limited. The effects of using these substrates and antenna parameters such as reflection coefficient, Gain, radiation pattern is observed using the electromagnetic solver ANSYS HFSS version 19.
