Publisher Summary Transparent conducting oxide (TCO) films are useful as transparent electrodes in various electro-optical devices, solar cells, window coating, etc. Properties of TCO differ from one technique to another because of various process parameters involved during the deposition or post-deposition treatment of these films. But for all, the aim is to achieve best physical and chemical properties. Among the metal oxide semiconductors, it seems that In2O3: Sn (ITO) thin films are most promising materials as they exhibit better opto-electronic properties. Therefore, in this chapter, In203 and ITO films were selected as the base materials for preparation of thin films of transparent conducting coatings.
