This paper deals with a design problem of a model output following control system based on almost strictly positive real (ASPR) characteristics and the command generator tracker (CGT) theorem for plants with time delays. A new design scheme of a parallel feedforward compensator (PFC) which makes non-ASPR plants with timedelay ASPR is proposed so that the output feedback-based model output following control can be utilized for a broader class of plants. Further, a practical evaluation tool concerning the robust stability of the obtained control system with model-plant mismatch is given by using the small gain theorem (SGT) . The effectiveness of the proposed methods is confirmed through a numerical simulation.
