The aim of this paper is to evaluate the performance of an EAHX working in the heating and cooling modes. The geothermal system consisting of single U pipe of 38 m and buried at 2 m depth in the ground, preheats/precools the fresh ventilation air for a house. The house is the result of an important research project in the area of energy efficient buildings. The COP (coefficient of performance) and the PF (performance factor) are among the parameter used to evaluate the performance of the EAHX. Simulation data provided by TRNSYS software were used to carry out the calculation. The results indicate a COP of 17.7 in the winter and 17.4 in the summer.
