Design and Analysis of Multiband CPW-Fed Antenna for Industrial Wireless Applications

This paper proposes a Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) fed antenna with multi resonances at 3GHz, 5.7GHz and 6.6GHz for industrial devices operating in wireless mode. The designed antenna is cost effective and compact in size with designed footprint of 20×30 mm2. The design and analysis of proposed antenna shows the 10-dB impedance bandwidth of 56% (2.39-4.25 GHz), 4.3% (5.60-5.85 GHz) and 7.46% (6.45-6.95 GHz) at resonances mode of 3 GHz, 5.7 GHz and 6.6 GHz, respectively. Further, the proposed antenna also exhibits nearly omnidirectional far field patterns, gain around 2dBi and stable efficiency >80% throughout the operating bands. The 10-dB impedance bandwidth, omnidirectional far field patterns, stable gain and constant efficiency demonstrates that the proposed antenna is suitable for industrial devices which operates in the desired wireless bands.
