C/NOFS (Communication/Navigation Outage Forecasting System) is an Air Force Space Test Program (STP) satellite carrying a payload designed and built by the Air Force Research Laboratory on a mission is to study the naturally occurring disturbances in the equatorial nighttime ionosphere. Its instruments require that the spacecraft ram surface be very nearly equipotential. The Nascap-2K computer code has been enhanced to model electrostatic potential variations on the conductive coverglasses and aperture grids proposed for potential control. Through the use of these new features in Nascap-2K, we are able to show that the proposed system of aperture grids and standard conductively-coated coverglasses are able to control the surface potential with a high degree of reliability.
