The interest in analyzing Arov-normalized j qq − J q -elementary factors is mainly caused by the fact that given a nondegenerate matricial Caratheodory problem there is a unique nondegenerate Arov-normalized j qq − J q -elementary factor which (via linear fractional transformation of the matricial Schur class) generates a description of the solution set. The main goal of this paper is to study canonical block completion problems for Arov-normalized j qq − J q -elementary factors.
