This species is similar to S. sattleri Li in appearance, but can be distinguished by the yellow ground colour of the forewing, and the brachia of uncus dilated at base and pointed at apex, and the valvella narrower and longer than the valva in the male genitalia (Fig. 42). In S. sattleri Li, the ground colour of the forewing is grayishwhite, and the brachia of uncus are elongate and nearly straight with rounded apex, and the valvella is wider and slightly shorter than the valva (Fig. 45).
