The precise determination of the |Vcb| Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) element is of great interest as it currently is the CKM element with the largest relative uncertainty, playing a crucial role in present CKM unitarity tests. Existing measurements of |Vcb| rely on semileptonic decays of B hadrons, but these determinations are hampered by non-perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics (NP-QCD) theoretical uncertainties, rendering further refinements challenging. Most of all, there is a large (∼ 3σ) observed tension between inclusive and exclusive B hadrons determinations, often referred to as the |Vcb| puzzle. A determination of |Vcb| through W decays would allow us to tackle the |Vcb| puzzle, providing a direct measurement at the natural energy scale of the W boson, with an approach that is free from NP-QCD theoretical uncertainties. The |Vcb| element can be accessed by measuring the ratio between the branching fraction of the W→ cb decay over the total hadronic decay branching fraction Γ(W → cb)/Γ(W → qq) = |Vcb|²/2 Conducting inclusive measurements of hadronic W decays at a Hadron collider like the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is impossible due to the large QCD background. To address this problem, semileptonic decays of W pairs can be employed, characterized by the presence of one lepton in the final state. This distinctive signature enables the clean and efficient triggering of events allowing us to measure the W → cb rate by exploiting the hadronic decay of the second W boson. The primary source of W pairs at the LHC arises from the decay of top-antitop quark pairs, hence the analysis will be focused on the selection of semileptonic decays of top pairs. At LHC, in all the RunII, there were produced almost 40 thousand W → cb decays originating from semileptonic t¯t decays, leading to a potential statistical uncertainty of 0.5% on |Vcb| in the ideal case of a perfect event selection. Since the difference between inclusive and exclusive determinations through B mesons decays is 7%, the direct measurement of |Vcb| at ...
