Forecasting the track Molave storm in 2020 by of the weighted average method of the optimal ensemble members ; Dự báo quỹ đạo bão Molave năm 2020 bằng phương pháp trung bình có trọng số của các thành phần tổ hợp tối ưu

In this paper, the authors forecast the track of Molave storm in 2020 using the ensemble prediction system created from the WRF model. Then the track prediction results are calculated by the weighted average method of the optimal ensemble members (the members with short–term track error are smaller than the ensemble average track error). Experimental results show that, in the direction of movement, at forecast periods longer than 2 days when the ensemble dispersion of the forecast tracks is large, the TBTS (weighted average of the optimal ensemble members) forecasted more effective than TBTH (ensemble mean). In terms of forecasting error, TBTS’s track error is significantly improved compared to that of TBTH in some forecasting terms. Specifically, the storm track error of TBTS improved from 2% to 15% in the forecast period 2 days, and in the forecast term after 2 days, it only improved 1% to 6% compared to the ensemble average method. This result initially shows the advantage of the weighted average method of the optimal ensemble members. ; Trong bài báo này nhóm tác giả dự báo quỹ đạo bão Molave năm 2020 bằng hệ thống dự báo tổ hợp được tạo ra từ mô hình WRF. Sau đó kết quả dự báo quỹ đạo được tính bằng phương pháp trung bình có trọng số của các thành phần tổ hợp tối ưu (thành phần có sai số quỹ đạo hạn ngắn nhỏ hơn sai số quỹ đạo trung bình tổ hợp). Kết quả thử nghiệm cho thấy, về hướng di chuyển, ở những hạn dự báo dài hơn 2 ngày khi độ tán tổ hợp của dự báo tổ hợp lớn thì TBTS (trung bình có trọng số của các thành phần tổ hợp tối ưu) mô phỏng hướng cơn bão hiệu quả hơn so với TBTH (trung bình tổ hợp). Về sai số dự báo quỹ đạo TBTS cải thiện đáng kể so với sai số dự báo quỹ đão của TBTH ở một số hạn dự báo. Cụ thể, sai số quỹ đạo bão của TBTS cải thiện từ 2% đến 15% ở các hạn dự báo trước 2 ngày, còn ở hạn dự báo sau 2 ngày chỉ cải thiện được 1% đến 6% so với phương pháp trung bình tổ hợp thông thường.
