Análise da relação do Logistics Performance Index (LPI) e Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) no que tange à dimensão infraestrutura ; Analysis of the Relation of Logistics Performance Index (LPI) and Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) regards of infrastructure dimension

In the Brazilian scenario where the share of transport costs (road, water, air, rail and pipeline transport) reaches 60% of the full costs of logistics, the logistics activity, specially at infrastructure dimension, presents as a strategic tool to create value to the companies and to reach competitive advantage. The purpose of this study was to identify if exists any kind of association between the logistics performance measured by Logistics Performance Index (LPI) and the competitiveness measured by Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) regards of infrastructure dimension. It is a descriptive research with a quantitative approach with the use of secondary data released by the World Bank and the World Economic Forum (WEF) for the years of 2007, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 e 2018. The final sample was composed by 144 countries that presented LPI and GCI for at least one of the years of the analyzed period. To evaluate the degree of association between the infrastructure indicators, LPI and GCE, was applied the Pearson correlation test for the year of 2007 where the assumption of bivariate normality was proven and the Spearman correlation test to the general correlation and for the years of 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018. The results pointed to a general correlation positive strong between the LPI and the GCI, the same was also observed in the annual analysis, except for 2010 that the correlation was moderate.
