Newsletter of the North Dakota School for the Deaf. ; Thanksgiving Vacation The day before Thanksgiving Day, in the evening, my sister, Shirley and husband, Johnny, and son, Clyde, came to our home late at night. The day before, my sister, Peggy had come to surprise us. On Thanksgiving Day we baked a big turkey We were surprised to see my uncle and aunt, Dave and Mary, come. They brought a turkey, too. They were too much for us to eat so we saved some for turkey pies. On Friday we played and talked. Pamela, Daryl, and I played with my two nephews all day. Saturday, we stayed home all day. Clyde and Cleve and their parents left for home'on Sunday, We began to miss our nephews. After every one had left, we were sad because they had to go back home, I wish they could have stayed for weeks. I also wish they lived in North Dakota so we could be together-more often. I miss my nephews. —Priscilla Frelich WiU the Dolphins Repeat? Tlhe Miami Dophins are ready to fire up to fight for the world football championship again. Miami's coach, Don Shula, and player, Larry Csonka, think Miami can win the championship if they work hard. I think Larry and Benny Malone or Mercury Morris or Jim Kiick will rush through the other team and quarterback Bob Giese will throw the ball to Paul Wakefield or Nate Moore. If he throws well and hands off to the backs, they will win the championship easily. I predict Miami will play against the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl. I hope the Dolphins v/in the Super Bowl for the third straight time and break the Green Bay Packers* record set under Vince Lombard! —Bobby Balzer Thanksgiving Vacation On Nov. 26, Wayne and I left from here with two boys who attend the Lake Region Junior College. I arrived in Hazen about 3:15 and was happy to see my mom. At about 4:30, my sisters, Denise and Debbie, came from the Hazen high school. Wednesday morning, Denise and Debbie went to school again but they came back at about 2:30 p.m. I went to Grandma's house to sew some caps to sell on our campus. When I finished sewing them, I went upstairs to eat dinner. That night, Cindy came home with her friend, Debbie Parker, from Minneapolis. Thursay morning, my mom, Dad and Debbie planned to go to a friend's house to eat dinner and supper. Wayne, Debbie, Cindy, Denise and I did not want to go there because we would not have anything to do. Denise and I made two pizzas in one hour and put them into tihe stove. All of them were ready to eat them for Thanksgiving Day. We ate them. I told them that it is called. "Thanksgiving Dinner." They laugjhed at me. Friday, my dad went to a friend's house to get four pigs to butcher. I was excited to see them butchered because I like to watch when they cut their necks. They moved quickly. Sometimes I helped my dad cut some of the meat up. My uncle, Ted and Eldor helped my dad' cut the meat again. When we were finished, we put the meat in the smokehouse. Saturday morning, Ted's sons came to my house for dinner and supper because we had to cut up a lot more meat. I ate a lot of the meat because il lasted very delicious. —Lynette Tesky Mr:;, Allen Hammer-en citizens of Watford City a Phonic Ear Fund ord City, ND, ha;; spent many lp her, through contributions e North Dakota School for the Deaf. urs askin establish "Phonic Bar" is the name of a FH amplification 3ystem used by the children at school for the development of speech and auditory skills.
