アドルフ・ロースの室内空間 --素材とその効果を中心に-- ; Interiors designed by Adolf Loos --with a focus on materials and their effects--

本論文は, 建築家アドルフ・ロース(1870-1933年)のアパート建築を対象に, その素材がどのように用いられているか, またどのような効果を果たしているかを明らかにすることを目的とする. ロースのアパートでは, 木材やガラス, 布, 大理石といった様々な素材が用いられており, 椅子や壁面, 窓やベッド等を形成している. ロースの室内空間についてはとりわけ一戸建ての住居を対象として建物内部と外部の差異化といった面から検討がなされてきたが, 個々の素材の果たす役割についてはまだ十分明らかになっていない. 本論では言説と突き合わせる形で検討を進め, これらの素材が果たす役割を明らかにする. まず, 彼の論考から, 素材についての思考を引き出し, 続いて個々の素材が主に使われている箇所について検討を行った. 木材は作り付けの椅子を形成し, 家屋の中にさらに居心地の良い拠点を生み出すよう用いられていた. また, 大理石は社交空間の価値づけと, その領域設定に役立っている. 最後にロースによる空間の統一性がロース自身により破たんをきたす契機を示し, それを新たな魅力として提示した. ; This paper reveals how materials are usedin apartments designedby architect Adolf Loos (1870-1933) as well as their effects. In Loos's apartments, materials such as wood, glass, cloth, and marble, form seats, walls, windows, and beds. As to Loos's interiors, especially in his independent houses, differentiation between the interior and exterior of the houses has already been studied, but the roles of the materials have not become clear. This paper draws a comparison between Loos's theory and practice about interiors, andreveals the roles of these materials. First, from his essays, we distill his thoughts about materials andthen study the parts of interiors in which each material is mainly used : Woodforms built-in seats and creates comfortable spaces, andmarble clads the wall, improves the value of social activity in the house, and clearly formulates the area for sociability. Finally, we show the moment in which the unity of space created by Loos is destructedby Loos himself, andoffer this moment as a new attract of Loos's interiors.
