Experiences of education credit framework froms universities in developed countries and lessons for universities in Vietnam ; Kinh nghiệm đào tạo theo học chế tín chỉ của các trường đại học thuộc các nước phát triển

The credit system was born and firstly applied at Harvard University in US since 1872. With its standing-outadvantages, the credit system are rapidly adopted by the United States (US) universities until now and hasbecome popular in European universities as well as in other developing countries in the world. In Vietnam,from the school year 2005 to 2006, the Ministry of Education and Training directs all universities, colleges andprofessional secondary schools to transform into credit-based training. This is a ‘learner-centered’ training model,with a great differenence from traditional training model. Although universities in Vietnam has applied the creditsystem for ten years, the slow application has just been in the first stages, without a proper understanding ofthe meaning of this training method.This article summarizes some experiences of the credit-based training fromuniversities in developed countries, which can be applied to Vietnamese Universities. ; Học chế tín chỉ ra đời và được áp dụng đầu tiên ở Viện Đại họcHarvard (Mỹ) từ năm 1872. Với ưu thế của nó, học chế tín chỉ nhanhchóng được các trường đại học ở Mỹ, Châu Âu và các nước tiên tiếnkhác áp dụng cho đến ngày nay. Ở Việt Nam, kể từ năm học 2005-2006, Bộ Giáo dục và Đào tạo (GD&ĐT) chỉ đạo tất cả các trườngđại học (ĐH), cao đẳng (CĐ), trung cấp chuyên nghiệp (TCCN) đềuphải chuyển đổi sang phương thức đào tạo theo học chế tín chỉ. Đâylà mô hình đào tạo “lấy người học làm trung tâm’’, có nhiều khácbiệt so với mô hình đào tạo truyền thống. Tuy đã trải qua hơn 10 nămáp dụng, nhưng các trường đại học ở nước ta vẫn đang trong nhữngbước đi đầu tiên, thậm chí còn chưa có nhận thức đúng về bản chấtcủa phương thức đào tạo này. Bài viết nghiên cứu kinh nghiệm đàotạo theo học chế tín chỉ của các trường đại học ở một số nước pháttriển, từ đó rút ra một số lưu ý áp dụng đào tạo tín chỉ tại các trườngđại học Việt Nam
