Género e política: análise sobre as resistências nos discursos e nas práticas sociais face à Lei da Paridade ; Gender and politics: analysis of resistance in speeches and social practices in relation to the Parity Act

O reconhecimento da desigualdade de género na política tem conduzido à adoção de medidas de ação positiva a nível mundial, como é disso exemplo a Lei da Paridade aprovada em Portugal em 2006. Tal como noutros países, onde estas medidas foram adotadas, também em Portugal elas suscitaram controvérsia social, um terreno particularmente rico de análise para as práticas assentes na ideologia de género. Centrando-se no ciclo eleitoral de 2009, este estudo pretendeu verificar se a Lei da Paridade foi cumprida pelos grandes partidos políticos portugueses e, além disso, conhecer os discursos que emergiram sobre o tema na imprensa periódica. Os resultados revelaram o cumprimento da lei e os seus efeitos positivos na representação das mulheres nestes partidos políticos nas eleições europeias e, embora menos, nas legislativas, e o seu incumprimento nas autárquicas, para além de mostrarem que as resistências à lei permanecem sustentadas por uma ideologia que define a política como um território masculino. ; The recognition of gender inequality in politics has led to the adoption of measures of affirmative action worldwide; the Parity Law approved in Portugal in 2006 is an example of this. Like other countries where such measures were adopted, this has been the source of social controversy in Portugal and is a particularly rich field of analysis for the practices underlying gender ideology. Focusing on the electoral cycle of 2009, this study strives to determine whether the main political parties in Portugal complied with the Parity Law and also to understand the discourses that emerged in the press on this matter. The results reveal both compliance with the law and also its positive effects in the representation of women in these political parties in the European and, to a lesser extent, legislative elections; on the other hand, the law was not observed in local elections and it was found that resistance to it continues to be underpinned by an ideology that defines politics as a male territory. ; La reconnaissance de ...
