This research work was carried out at the Faculty of Livestock Sciences (FCP), QuevedoState Technical University, “La María” Campus. Its objective was to analyze the chemicacomposition of pineapple (ananas comosus) and by-products at the field level as an alternative raw material for animal production. The variables that were taken into account were dry matter (DM), NDF - FDA, crude protein (CP), crude energy, ash (Cnz). With acompletely randomized experimental design (DCA), as treatments the parts of the pineapple (whole fruit, peel, pulp, crown, heart, whole plant, stubble, stem, roots) and the differentsectors as repetitions (Santo Domingo de the Tsáchilas, Buena Fe, Quevedo, La Guaya, El Rosario, Milagro, Naranjito). The results showed statistical differences, with a dry matter of9.28 - 29.52%, NDF content (21.6 - 63.27%) and gross energy of 1 - 4 Kcal / g. In the surveydirected at pineapple (Ananas comosus) producers in Sto. Domingo de los Tsáchilas the average pineapple production is 12,376 t / year, the remainder of 371 t / year and the stubble of 5,556 t / year. While between the provinces of Los Ríos and Guayas the averageproduction is 11.63 t / year, the remainder of 1T / year and the stubble of 20 - 40 T / year. For the quality of the remainder, the flavor, color, texture, smell and pH were taken into account. The pineapple of Sto. Domingo de los Tsáchilas is the sweetest, while Quevedo'stends to be acidic, however, the quality of the different sectors is acceptable. In observation, both pineapple and by-products make it ideal so that in combination with other forages, additives or grasses, it can supply the necessary requirements in a diet, offering to be a good food alternative for animal production.
