In the paper the numerical solutions of inverse problem consisting in the identification of volumetric latent heat of Al-Si alloy are presented, at the same time two versions concerning the substitute thermal capacity (STC) of mushy zone are taken into account. The first version corresponds to the constant value of STC, while the second corresponds to the linear approximation of parameter discussed. The additional information necessary in order to solve the inverse problem results from knowledge of heating curves at the selected set of points from mould sub-domain. The ID system casting-sand mould is considered, but the problem can be similarly solved for more complex objects. The details concerning theoretical considerations can be found in the first part of the paper.
