Les auteurs, se fondant sur les recommandations de l'Anaes concernant les transfusions, ont conçu une application fonctionnant sur un ordinateur de poche (Psion 5mx) qui permet d'optimiser la prescription de CGR au lit du patient grâce à l'intégration simultanée des calculs usuels concernant l'évaluation des besoins transfusionnels, du transport artériel en O2(40 Ko) et du texte intégral de ces recommandations sous forme d'une base de données peu encombrante (190 Ko). L'intérêt d'un tel concept pour l'amélioration de la qualité de prise en charge des patients est discuté.
