The purpose of this study was to examine the patterns of alcohol consumption of individuals under 21 years of age (but at least 18 years of age). The survey was administered to a sample of 318 individuals, who consumed alcohol, at least, occasionally and 68 individuals who never consume alcohol. The survey questioned participants on frequency and location of alcohol consumption, sources of alcohol, as well as, changes they may have noted since the law was put into effect in 1996. Findings suggests the change in legal drinking age had little effect on the alcohol consumption of the targeted group. Alcohol is easily purchased by underage youth or obtained from older friends. A shift from public to private drinking was noted.
