Cette réalisation est l'une des plus importantes de ces dix dernières années en Italie, prévue pour abriter des instituts de recherche de pointe, avec pour priorité une flexibilité maximale (trame carrée de 6 m de côté). Elle comprend 9 unités de hauteurs variables (2 à 6 niveaux) desservies par une galerie vitrée de 5,64 m de hauteur. L'entrée, au Sud, abrite un vaste escalier autoportant, semi-circulaire en béton armé. Il y a également un centre des congrès de 400 places et une bibliothèque de forme cylindrique (100 000 volumes) dont l'extension ultérieure est prévue.
