The new method of examination of microstructure ― acoustic microscopy ― was used for studying HTSC-materials (ceramics, monocrystals and thin films). The obtained high-resolution images (with resolution up to 0.4 mkm) visualize the specimen topography, variations of the local acoustic properties, in particular, surface and subsurface defects ― cracks, twins, phase and structural discontinuities, peelings in films.
