This -paper investigates the two classes of wireless supply chain application (i.e., mobility applications, which rely on cellular or satellite mobile communication; and radio-frequency applications, which use short-range radio waves to communicate) to identify the business benefits associated with each and design an evolving scenario to reveal tendencies and future development in Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) Business-to-Business (B2B) e-commerce. It presents a framework for future developments in RFID in B2B e-commerce as a supply chain coordination solution. While the focus on RFID deployment to date has been on data collection, the complete payoff is in automating manual processes. tracking goods, and sharing data with customers and suppliers. The implications for theory and practice are discussed.
