Mass culture is a global phenomenon, but its essential manifestations are local. The most interesting aspects of rock music may be traced on local levels. With the analysis of the lyrics of the CZD rock group from the village Trate in the northeastern part of Slovenia, the A. uncovers the process of « autochtonization » of global rock music at the local level.
