Infrared photodissociation spectra of buffer-gas-cooled m icrohydrated Magnesium Nitrate i ons [[[MgN[O.sub.3]([H.sub.2]O).sub.1-4]].sup.+] complexes measured in the O-H stretching region are reported. The observed bands assigned to the excitation of the symmetric and antisymmetric stretching modes of the water molecules complete the first coordination shell at n = 4 to form a stable six-fold-coordinated complex which persist up to room temperature.
