High tech manufacturing has been prosperous for decades in Taiwan. Due to the globalization and emerging countries’ competition, the information technology was considered to the key enabler for the high-tech manufacturing firm’s strategy innovation that bring the growth for IT services business. System integration (SI) of CIM is the core services for the semiconductor manufacturing operation that is dominated by global companies although more and more local companies enter the area. In this thesis, the CIM project models are analyzed and divided to five models that have been used by the semiconductor firms in the past. Then, we will investigate the global semiconductor environment and technology trend that provide the outlook further to the SI suppliers’ future opportunity. Following, the Five Forces analysis is utilized to find out the competitive advantage of the SI business. At the last, the customer interview was performed and evaluate with QFD (Quality Function Deployment) to dig out 1) key factors/capabilities of the SI suppliers, 2) the un-satisfaction portion that SI need to improve, and 3) the potential needs that SI suppliers can think to innovate then increase the value-add services.
