In the thesis, we propose a see-through prism CPV module for a building integrated window. The window comprises of several prism bars, each of which is attached with a photovoltaic cell. For commercial applications, most solar windows are designed at the cost of significant light energy loss or insufficient indoor illumination. Although this proposed method is a tradeoff, by fully taking advantage of the optical property of the prism bar, it can be seen an optimal and smart design. In designing the module, the tracing work is based on ASAP. All optical elements are achievable with conventional ultra-precision processes. After assembling a proto-type, both light-electricity conversion efficiency and indoor illumination under different solar incident angles are all thoroughly investigated.
