The purpose of this study was to understand the actual situation on the relationship between career self-efficacy and well-being of formal and substitute junior high school teachers in Tao- yuan County, Hsin-chu County, Hsin-chu City and Miao-li County. The number of 941 valid questionnaires were collected. Descriptive statistics, independent-sample t test, single factor analysis of variance, canonical correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis were employed to implement statistical analysis of questionnaire. The data analysis results are summarized as follows: 1. Junior high school teachers present a medium-high degree of career self-efficacy perception in Tao-yuan County, Hsin-chu County, Hsin-chu City and Miao-li County, and the degree of career self-efficacy of substitute junior high school teachers is higher than that of formal junior high school teachers. 2. Junior high school teachers present a medium-high degree of well-being perception in Tao- yuan County, Hsin-chu County, Hsin-chu City and Miao-li County, and there is no significant difference between formal junior high school teachers and substitute junior high school teachers. 3. There is significant difference of career self-efficacy perception between junior high school formal and substitute teachers with diverse backgrounds in Tao-yuan County, Hsin- chu County, Hsin-chu City and Miao-li County. 4. There is significant difference of well-being perception between junior high school formal and substitute teachers with diverse backgrounds in Tao-yuan County, Hsin-chu County, Hsin-chu City and Miao-li County. 5. There is a distinctive canonical correlation between career self-efficacy and well-being in Tao-yuan County, Hsin-chu County, Hsin-chu City and Miao-li County. 6. Junior high school teachers’ career well-being can be definitely predicted by teacher’s career self-efficacy in Tao-yuan County, Hsin-chu County, Hsin-chu City and Miao-li County. According to the research results, the suggestions were made for educational administrative institutions, formal junior high school teachers, substitute junior high school teachers, and future studies, hopefully providing references.
