[EN] Floods are natural catastrophes that generate the greatest damage in Spain. According to the Insurance Compensation Consortium and the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain, in our country, flood damage is estimated in total as an average of 800 million euros per year. The development of forecasting tools allows to anticipate and prepare for these events, reducing the damage to the population and property. In this study, a distributed hydrological model is being implemented in the Albaida river basin using TETIS. TETIS is a spatially distributed hydrological and sediment cycle simulation model which subdivides the basin into regular cells, with physically based parameters. It is a comprehensive model, which can address both flood and water resource problems within the same model. In addition, it has a powerful algorithm for automatic calibration of its effective parameters and the initial values of all state variables, which greatly facilitates its practical implementation. The study is part of a collaboration agreement between the Hydrological and Environmental Modelling Research Group (GIMHA) of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, and the Automatic Hydrological Information System (SAIH) of the Júcar Basin Authority (CHJ). The Albaida river basin is being studied as a pilot case due to its characteristics in terms of historical floods, keeping in mind the case of the Bellús reservoir on the Albaida river, which has carried out water releases during past events, as well as the Canyoles river that it is not regulated, contributing both flows to the Júcar floodplain, a complex system affected by various rivers and torrential streams which presents a high level of both urban and agricultural danger. First, an analysis of the delimitation of the Albaida river basin has been carried out in detail, relying on two-dimensional hydraulic modeling. Next, the working spatial resolution has been selected, to later estimate the different parameter maps that character
