  • Application Filed: September 11, 2023
  • Claim: 1. An electronic device, comprising: one or more processors; and memory storing one or more programs configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for: presenting a three-dimensional environment comprising a first real object and a displayed virtual object, wherein the displayed virtual object does not correspond to a second real object; presenting movement of the first real object from a first location to a second location in the three-dimensional environment; and in accordance with a determination that a distance criteria is satisfied, removing a portion of the displayed virtual object, wherein the distance criteria comprises a threshold distance between the second location and the displayed virtual object.
  • Claim: 2. The electronic device of claim 1, the one or more programs further including instructions for: in accordance with a determination that the distance criteria is not satisfied, forgoing removing the portion of the displayed virtual object.
  • Claim: 3. The electronic device of claim 1, the one or more programs further including instructions for: in response to removing the portion of the displayed virtual object, presenting, in the removed portion, a second virtual object different from the displayed virtual object.
  • Claim: 4. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the portion of the displayed virtual object is removed via an aperture effect.
  • Claim: 5. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the first real object corresponds to a presented image of the first real object in the three-dimensional environment.
  • Claim: 6. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the first real object corresponds to a direct view of the first real object through a display presenting the three-dimensional environment.
  • Claim: 7. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the first real object is a hand of a user.
  • Claim: 8. The electronic device of claim 1, the one or more programs further including instructions for: obtaining an image of a third real object; and presenting, in the three-dimensional environment, the third real object.
  • Claim: 9. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein: in accordance with a determination that a speed of the first real object from the first location to the second location in the three-dimensional environment corresponds to a first speed that is greater than a baseline speed, the threshold distance is greater than a baseline threshold distance; and in accordance with a determination that the speed of the first real object from the first location to the second location in the three-dimensional environment corresponds to a second speed that is less than the baseline speed, the threshold distance is less than the baseline threshold distance.
  • Claim: 10. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein: in accordance with a determination that a speed of the first real object is increasing from the first location to the second location in the three-dimensional environment, the threshold distance is greater than a baseline threshold distance; and in accordance with a determination that the speed of the first real object is decreasing from the first location to the second location in the three-dimensional environment, the threshold distance is less than the baseline threshold distance.
  • Claim: 11. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the threshold distance between the second location and the displayed virtual object comprises a distance between the first real object in the three-dimensional environment and the displayed virtual object in the three-dimensional environment.
  • Claim: 12. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein a magnitude of the portion of the displayed virtual object that is removed is determined based on a distance between the second location in the three-dimensional environment and the displayed virtual object in the three-dimensional environment.
  • Claim: 13. The electronic device of claim 1, the one or more programs further including instructions for: in accordance with detecting a second movement of the first real object from the second location to a third location in the three-dimensional environment: presenting a corresponding movement of the first real object from the second location to the third location in the three-dimensional environment; and in accordance with a determination that the distance criteria is satisfied, removing a second portion of the displayed virtual object, the second portion different from the portion of the displayed virtual object that is removed.
  • Claim: 14. The electronic device of claim 13, the one or more programs further including instructions for: further in accordance with detecting the second movement of the first real object: in accordance with a determination that a second distance criteria is satisfied, removing an additional portion of the displayed virtual object from the displayed virtual object with the portion removed, wherein the second distance criteria is satisfied when the third location is within a second threshold distance of the displayed virtual object, the second threshold distance smaller than the threshold distance.
  • Claim: 15. The electronic device of claim 13, the one or more programs further including instructions for: further in accordance with detecting the second movement of the first real object: in accordance with a determination that the distance criteria is no longer satisfied, re-presenting the removed portion of the displayed virtual object.
  • Claim: 16. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing one or more programs configured to be executed by one or more processors of an electronic device, the one or more programs including instructions for: presenting a three-dimensional environment comprising a first real object and a displayed virtual object, wherein the displayed virtual object does not correspond to a second real object; presenting movement of the first real object from a first location to a second location in the three-dimensional environment; and in accordance with a determination that a distance criteria is satisfied, removing a portion of the displayed virtual object, wherein the distance criteria comprises a threshold distance between the second location and the displayed virtual object.
  • Claim: 17. A method, comprising: at an electronic device: presenting a three-dimensional environment comprising a first real object and a displayed virtual object, wherein the displayed virtual object does not correspond to a second real object; presenting movement of the first real object from a first location to a second location in the three-dimensional environment; and in accordance with a determination that a distance criteria is satisfied, removing a portion of the displayed virtual object, wherein the distance criteria comprises a threshold distance between the second location and the displayed virtual object.
