Zugriff:
The fourth in a series from a study of least restrictive environment (LRE) placement for handicapped students identifies exemplary practices useful in arriving at LRE placements. Analysis of state documents and observations of 134 placement team meetings held in five states were carried out. Noteworthy approaches are summarized for five classifications: identification and evaluation (including public awareness, screening, communication, and documentation); placement decision making (including placement team meetings, information sharing, and the individualized education program); parent/student involvement; review and evaluation; program and individual services; and architecture. Within each topic, sample forms, guidelines, and descriptions are included. (CL)
