The article focuses on Vilpac truck company's use of computer integrated manufacturing in Mexico. The company uses systems integrated enterprise and manufacturing architecture to manufacture and sell trucks. It is using the system to meet international product standards. The company is also preparing for the opening of previously monopolized markets to competition in Mexico. Vilpac has been created through a joint venture between United States-based PACCAR and the Vildosola family of Mexicali, Mexico.
