The article describes a process on the translation, diffusion and packaging of an evidence-based intervention in preventing HIV infections of the Diffusion of Effective Behavioral Interventions (DEBI) Project for Hispanic/Latino injection drug users (IDUs) in the U.S. It cites that Prevention Research Synthesis (PRS) reviews and analyzes research literatures regarding successful HIV intervention. It notes that Replicating Effective Programs (REP) project made information packages and training materials. After the packaging, it states that the DEBI project implements and develops a plan to distribute HIV intervention among community-based organizations and health departments. Challenges, recommendations, budgets and results on the implementation of the intervention are discussed.
