The article discusses aspect of the learning process in the tactical warfare used by the German Infantry Division in the battlefield during the World War 1 (WW 1) in 1918 against superior enemy coalition. An overview of the war strategy introduced by Carl von Clausewitz which concerns the attack, delaying engagement, and defense is offered. It focuses on the France soldiers of the 11th Bavarian Infantry Division (11th BID) under the command of Lieutenant General Paul Ritter von Kneußl which are considered as an elite division during the war.
